CBT works especially well for these.

You don't have to be in crisis to qualify for care.

The same anxious thought loops every day
You avoid things and the fear keeps growing
Panic attacks you want tools for
Insomnia that's become a habit, not just a symptom
Harsh self-talk you can hear yourself using
You want skills, not open-ended talking
Compulsions or checking you want to break
Low mood you'd rather treat without medication first

What a first appointment actually looks like

A full one-hour video visit with an Alberta physician. They ask about what's been happening, how long it's been going on, and what you've already tried. Nothing is decided without you, and follow-up appointments are unlimited.

  • A full hour with your physician, not a 5-minute triage call
  • Plain-language explanation of what's driving your symptoms
  • A written care plan you leave the appointment with
  • Internal referral to our psychiatrists or counsellors if you need it
  • Unlimited follow-up appointments, you're never left alone with a plan
On cost

The assessment is free. Therapy is quoted before you start.

Physician appointments are covered by AHCIP. Counselling and therapy are non-physician services, so they are either covered by your private insurance or priced clearly in advance. Nothing is charged without your agreement.

If you do choose it, you get unlimited follow-up appointments to adjust or stop, not a prescription and silence.

A physician confirms the plan before you spend anything.

Your free physician appointment establishes what you're dealing with and whether CBT is the right treatment. Counselling and therapy sessions are non-physician services, priced transparently up front, you'll never be surprised by a bill.

It's designed to be time-limited, often somewhere between six and twenty sessions depending on the problem, with homework between them. Your assessment will give you a realistic range.

CBT is structured and skills-based, targeting specific thought and behaviour patterns with measurable goals. Open-ended talk therapy explores more broadly. Both are useful; your physician will help you pick.

No. You book directly. If your plan calls for a psychiatrist, our physicians refer you internally to our own psychiatry team, so there's no external waitlist to join.
