What a first appointment actually looks like
A full one-hour video visit with an Alberta physician. They ask about what's been happening, how long it's been going on, and what you've already tried. Nothing is decided without you, and follow-up appointments are unlimited.
- A full hour with your physician, not a 5-minute triage call
- Plain-language explanation of what's driving your symptoms
- A written care plan you leave the appointment with
- Internal referral to our psychiatrists or counsellors if you need it
- Unlimited follow-up appointments, you're never left alone with a plan
Medication decisions here are made carefully, with you.
Bipolar treatment often does involve medication, and your physician will be honest about that, including trade-offs, monitoring, and what happens if you'd rather wait. Nothing is started without your informed agreement.
If you do choose it, you get unlimited follow-up appointments to adjust or stop, not a prescription and silence.
Getting bipolar right changes every other treatment.
Bipolar disorder is frequently first treated as depression, and the wrong medication can destabilise you. Because our physicians assess across all 19 clinical categories and refer internally to psychiatry, you get the diagnosis reviewed properly.
